Seeing as 2010 is nearing the end I thought I’d post a quick update.

Things have been busy over the last few months. I’ve had some good gigs with my own band, including the album launch at Pizza Express, Soho and regular gigs at the Luna Lounge in Leytonstone. The owner of this venue has decided to lease it out for year to a local music organisation, so I’m not sure what the future holds for them or me getting more gigs there…..

On the freelance front, I’m still doing my regular gig on Priscilla The Musical in London’s West End but have also been out doing a few other things: a session for a Jodie Prenger which may or may not be used on an upcoming album and or TV show. I had the fortune of being part of the rhythm section along with Phil Mulford on bass and Neal Wilkinson on drums. I also went and covered one episode of Strictly Come Dancing on BBC (wow, what a long day….and it goes out live!) and played in the house band for the Ruth Jones Christmas Cracker show down at ITV Wales (although it’s a BBC production!).

I also did a couple of days recording for the new Selina Jones album along with Matt O’Reagan (piano), Paul Morgan (bass) and Mike Smith (drums) and a fun (and I think it was sold out!) gig at Ronnie Scott’s with the Elliott Henshaw Band…..the original line up all managed to make the gig, and that hasn’t happen for a while….. me on guitar, Elliott Henshaw on drums, Jay Cox on bass , Simon Willescroft on sax (he even brought his curly soprano!) and Matt Steele on keys.

Merry Xmas everyone!

James ☺
