2006 turned out to be quite busy! I finished off the guitar parts for the new Elliott Henshaw CD, which has been over a year in the making but should be completed soon, check out Elliotts' new website for details and band line up : www.elliotthenshaw.com.I then spent a few weeks studying in India with Pandit Arvind Parikh..........a very fruitful trip, check out some of the pics on the photo page! I came back and went straight to Belfast for a week on the What A Feeling Tour. I did a few more weeks on this tour in various places around the UK until June, then a quick week at the Epsom Playhouse followed by the guitars on Dan Shaw's album (www.myspace.com/danshaw) all recorded at Cowshed Studios with Joe Leach behind the desk (or computer monitor) I then raced up to Manchester to fill Eran Kendler's shoes for one day on a short workshop tour with Stefan Redtenbachers Funkestra (www.stefanredtenbacher.com)This was great fun.......the band consisted of Stefan on bass, Accy Yeats (drums), Rob Taggart (keys) and Jim Hunt (sax) and Stefan did a good job of roasting me on his tunes!! I then did some deps on Dancing In The Streets and Whistle Down The Wind in theatre land of London town. Following on from that was a load of teaching at the ACM in Guildford and Brunel University plus some varied gigs, one on the same bill as Canadian rocker Bryan Adams! I also managed to cram in a day of recording with my newly formed group featuring Elliott Henshaw (drums), Ross Stanley (piano) and Jules Jackson (bass). We had a great day at Jules studio recording mainly my tunes with a couple of standards thrown in for good measure. You can check out some clips at (www.myspace.com/jamespuseygroup) ............and 2007 has arrived rather quickly! Deps in town on Dancing In The Streets, Daddy Cool and Cabaret (with some use of a lapsteel guitar..........many thank for Justin Quinn for lending me one!). I'm off on the UK tour of Boogie Nights which kicks off in Bromley at the beginning of Feb. I've got a couple of gigs in with singer/songwriter Stuart Revnell (www.stuartrevnell.com) which should be good and hopefully some gigs with Kay Jay (Soul/R+B singer-www.kayjay.biz) and Dan Shaw should follow at some point! I'm also planning on getting some gigs for my band and developing my writing and recording projects at home. Hopefully later in the year I'll have time to dedicate more time to my ongoing sitar studies with another trip to India and some concerts in the UK.
