Hello!

There’s been lots going on here….. I have a new website and have been busy with all sorts of gigs, sessions and teaching.

2017 saw the release of the Group S album featuring the stella rhythm section of myself, Laurence Cottle, Gwilym Simcock and Elliott Henshaw. This led to gigs at The Manchester Jazz Festival and the Royal Northern College of Music, where Jason Rebello (Sting/Jeff Beck) handled piano duties.

Session guitar work in 2017 included project for Ian Livingstone, Benji Merrisson, J Music and albums for Spice Fusion Big Band and Elliott Henshaw. Much of this was done as online session from my own studio.

I also kept up a busy schedule in London with dep work in the West End on Dreamgirls, Matilda, Motown The Musical, Kinky Boots, School of Rock, Beautiful, Groundhog Day, In The Heights and Lazarus.

There was also a fun gig at The Hideaway with US singer Kym Mazelle, years ago I used to listen to Maceo Parkers Life On Planet Groove which she was on, so it was lovely to work with her.

2018 has got off to a flying start with a last minute call to cover Hamilton in the West End, which has not long been open. I learnt the show in a couple of days but then luckily got a run of 9 consecutive shows to “bed” it in a little! I’ve also been covering some early sessions for Tina Turner The Musical, one of which was at the lovely British Grove Studios.

There was also a nice gig at the 606 Jazz Club with Gina Foster (vocals) where I joined Steve Pearce (bass), Neal Wilkinson (drums) and Rob Baron (keys) for some funky fun times!

In Feb there was a short 4 date UK tour (or tourette perhaps?!) with Irit, a UK based artists originally from Tel Aviv in Israel. The band included Will Fry (percussion) and Ilona Suomalainen (accordion) and we got to play at the beautiful Oran Mor in Glasgow.

I’m now in the middle of covering the last few weeks on Strictly Come Dancing star Brendan Coles UK Tour. When that finishes at the end of March I’m straight back into a run of West End work on School of Rock, Hamilton and Dreamgirls plus some studio session work.

2018 also saw the release of the new Spice Fusion album, which I had the pleasure of playing on alongside US players Andy Snitzer (sax), David Beniot (piano) and a whole host of amazing UK players.

In addition to this I’m continuing to grow my private teaching roster teaching guitar and sitar in Bromley and London.

Please get in touch if you’re interested in guitar lessons, sitar lessons and any playing work, live and sessions via my contact page.
